Plus: how pricing's going to work after launch.

Hey,

A week before Cotypist launches publicly, here's what's coming and a thank-you for being early.

Starting Wednesday, May 27, Cotypist will have three tiers:

  • Free: accept 100 word completions per day for free, on a curated set of light models. If you don't type that much or prefer typing over Cotypist's suggestions yourself, this can easily last all day.
  • Plus: $10/month or $96/year. Unlimited completions, more capable models, full autocorrect, configurable completion length. One device.
  • Pro: $15/month or $144/year. Everything in Plus, plus the full model catalog, the strongest personalization, per-app custom instructions, pasteboard context, and early access to Cotypist Labs features like mid-line completions. Up to three devices.

This should cover most casual use for free (you can check your usage in Settings) while having the potential to save you several hours each month of typing at 30-40 words per minute for a small fee. Chances are that your boss will want to order a Cotypist subscription for you once they see how much time it saves you!

In addition, for people on this list, I'm opening the annual plans at a lower price:

  • Plus annual: $72 for the first year
  • Pro annual: $120 for the first year

This discount ends at midnight PT on Wednesday, May 27 when we go live publicly. You can already subscribe now and activate your subscription in Cotypist 0.23 using the link you'll receive to ensure a seamless transition at launch.

Cotypist still has a lot to ship. Alternative completions, thesaurus functionality, even better personalization, more experimental ideas via Labs. Subscriptions are what let me keep working on these things without artificially holding back features for a paid update.

If now isn't the right time, no pressure. Everything will still be available at standard prices after launch, and Free will still cover most casual use.
